School of Lifeskills
Alvin has been a passionate educator for close to ten years; he is one of the rare few who teaches because he loves to teach. An ex-MOE teacher teaching math and D&T, Alvin has also at one point in his life been a full-time music teacher, a special needs teacher and even recently taught math at a weekly night class for adults. Currently he is also helping teach music at a Sinda program, targeted at at-risk youth, with the view of getting them to learn an instrument and perform on stage, all within 20 short weeks.
As an experienced life skills trainer, Alvin has taught students from primary schools all the way to tertiary institutions. He is most comfortable with learning experiences that heavily involve students’ participation, and likes to structure his lessons as such.
Having recently finished his Masters in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Teaching, has really helped him to up his game in planning and conducting educational activities that are engaging and exciting. He is excited about using Verve School of Lifeskills as a platform to help people learn more about themselves, as well as the world around them.
